Intergenerational Dialogue on Feminist Activism in (Post-) Yugoslav space

enue: National LibraryFemArt Festival, Prishtina, June 15th, 2019 at 15h

Background:

Across generations, feminists and peace activists in the former Yugoslavia have struggled and continued to fight for peaceful and just societies, and equality of opportunity. Looking back, yet focusing into the future of feminist activism, The Center for Research and Gender Policy from Pristina and Jelena Santic Foundation would like to host different generations of feminists (scholars and activists) from Sarajevo, Prishtina and Belgrade, and engage them in a dialogue to address the question of how different generations of activists can work and collaborate in order to maintain a more united stance in the feminist struggle for women’s empowerment in their countries and the region. The panel discussion, that will be part of FemArt Festival in Pristina in June 2019, also seeks to find out the extent to which regional and local ideas and strategies have informed activists organizing at different moments and how feminist action has developed across generations.

Moderator of the panel discussion will be Vjollca Krasniqi and panelist will be from Pristina, Sarajevo, Belgrade and Tirana.
